Our History

Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church was the original church of the Bible Fellowship denomination which now includes 75 churches and church plants in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Florida, New Mexico, and Mexico.

Some dates in our history:

  • 1858 - 24 Members of the General Conference Mennonite Church of Old Zionsville left their church to form a new fellowship.
  • 1859 - Our church building, originally called the Upper Milford Meeting House, was built for a cost of $1,360.
  • 1875 - Sunday school was begun.
  • 1920 - A circuit preacher began to serve the Zionsville, Emmaus, and Macungie churches.
  • 1930s - Sermons ceased to be in German.
  • 1950s - Mid-week Bible Clubs began to be held.
  • 1959 - The denomination name was changed to the Bible Fellowship Church (BFC)
  • 2002 - Bennett Hall, the fellowship hall next to the main church building, was built.
