An Extraordinary Promise

The promise given by the angel Gabriel is most extraordinary. For the news he brings is not about an ordinary event that is going to occur. Yet, in all the joy of the message from Gabriel comes a deep pondering from Mary. What is said to her about conceiving and bearing the Son of God is one to be most thought over. Yet, her faith is strong, and we see in this promise a faithful slave of God, Mary, the mother of Jesus.
